Why a Thursday letter, and why from us
Every Thursday morning, we send out an issue of Clothing Loves — a small, considered read on what is genuinely worth wearing this week, and the brands worth building a wardrobe around for the long run.
It is written by stylists who have actually worn, washed and stress-tested the clothes. Not one opinion — at least eight. Our 30-day wash-and-wear score is compiled from real testers living in the garments across London flats, Brooklyn brownstones and a Tokyo share house. If a label earns it, it gets the Worn-Tested mark in the piece and in the directory.
We do not chase trends. We do not run a "top 10" treadmill. Roughly 73% of the brands we feature are outside the major retailers — the long tail of independent and heritage labels that the algorithm rarely surfaces and that most fashion media quietly ignores. We hunt them on purpose, because that is where the wardrobes people keep for a decade tend to live.
There is no paywall. The letter is free, supported by affiliate links to the pieces we genuinely recommend. If we link to something, we have worn it. If a piece is gifted for review, the disclosure is in the piece — always at the top, never in a footnote.

- When does the newsletter arrive?
- Every Thursday morning, UK time. One issue, four pieces, around a 12-to-15-minute read. We occasionally send a bonus dispatch when something genuinely deserves it — never more than once a month.
- Is it free? Will it become paid?
- Free, and intended to stay that way. The letter is supported by affiliate links — if you buy a piece we recommend, a small percentage comes back to the magazine. No paywall, no "premium tier", no founder video.
- Where do the affiliate links send me?
- Directly to the brand's own site where possible, or to a stockist we trust. Every link in every issue is disclosed at the top of the piece. We never link to something a stylist has not actually worn.
- How does the Worn-Tested scoring actually work?
- A minimum of eight real testers wear each garment for 30 days — across seasons, washes, commutes, flights. We score on fit retention, fabric behaviour, stitching, and value for money. Only 142 of the 1,800 labels we have evaluated have earned it. The criteria are published in full on the Worn-Tested page.
